Located almost exactly in the middle of the U.S., Nebraska is one of our leading agriculture / farming and ranching states. Many of Nebraska’s first settlers built their homes of sod because of the lack of timber. Partly because of this, Arbor Day and the National Arbor Day Foundation is headquartered in Nebraska City.
